What's our best look against a drop big?

Spain Pick and Roll. Ridgeline's big dropped on every ball screen, and you scored on 4 of your 11 Spain trips, three of them in the second half. Start there out of a timeout.

In one paragraph

What is Hoops ClinIQ?

Hoops ClinIQ is coaching software for basketball staffs. It does three things: a playbook with animated plays, player study with assigned plays and quizzes, and ClinIQ, an AI assistant that cites the play, clip or stat behind every answer. Coaches record games on a phone in the app. Paid plans start at $12 a month. Pilots start in spring 2027.

One loop

A clip links to a play. The answer cites both.

Most staffs run a film subscription and a play tool that never talk to each other. Here the playbook, the film and ClinIQ share one library, so every piece points to the others.

Draw it once. It animates itself.

Draw cuts, screens and passes on a real court. Hoops ClinIQ animates the play phase by phase, in your play names and your terms.

  • Share by link, PDF or video
  • Assign plays to players with notes per phase
  • Works on a phone at the sideline

Five things to try in the demo

No claim here without a screen behind it. Each row opens the demo app with the Lakeshore Lions, a sample team, so you can see it work.

  1. Your film, tagged with your own play names

Tag screens and sets with the names you use, linked to your playbook and your players' study. Later ClinIQ answers link the clip time and the play phase they came from.

Open in the demo: Your film, tagged with your own play names
  2. ClinIQ drafts, a coach approves

Messages, practice plans and scouting notes wait in one approval queue. Nothing reaches players or parents until a person says yes.

Open in the demo: ClinIQ drafts, a coach approves
  3. Consent first, on every screen

A player whose guardian hasn't consented shows no stats anywhere: not on the roster, in film, in insights or in an export.

Open in the demo: Consent first, on every screen
  4. Record on your phone or upload a file

No camera to buy and nothing to install in the gym. Record games with Hoops ClinIQ, or upload a video file from any camera.

Open in the demo: Record on your phone or upload a file
  5. Print sheets and wristbands from the same playbook

Call sheets, game plans and wristband cards print from your plays, so the paper matches the app.

AI that shows its work

Ask it anything. Open every source.

ClinIQ answers from your own playbook, film and stats. Every claim carries a chip that opens the clip, the play or the stat behind it. Anything that leaves the staff waits for you.

Why did Spain stall in the second half against Cedar Park?

Cedar Park started switching the back screen after halftime, so the roll was never open. Your three coach-tagged Spain trips after the break ended in two turnovers and a missed three. One more trip at Q3 4:52 is a Beta suggestion still waiting for review, so I left it out.

Why switch

Hoops ClinIQ covers basketball. Keep Hudl for football.

Most programs pay for film in one place and plays in another. The two don't talk to each other, and neither answers a question. Hoops ClinIQ is film you record, the playbook, player study and cited answers.

Kids first

Most of your roster is under 18. We built for that first.

Team apps draw complaints about ads and paywalled basics. These are the rules we hold ourselves to instead, written into our product principles.

  • Consent comes first

Our rule: No data about a player on your roster is shown or used until a parent or guardian agrees. Game film can show opponents and non-consented players; that film stays staff-only. Your staff sees each player's consent status.

  • No ads

Not for coaches, players or parents. The coach's plan pays for the product, so nobody's attention is for sale.

  • We don't sell data

Your film and roster belong to your program. Our rule: film is never used to train AI unless you opt in.

  • Opponents stay anonymous

Our rule: players who aren't on your roster show up as positions like “opponent 4”. Never named, never tracked, never in shared exports.

  • AI proposes, people decide

Our rule: messages, shared plays and schedule changes wait for a coach to approve them. Agents never get more access than you.

  • No medical records

Our rule: availability and wellness only. ClinIQ never diagnoses a player or clears one to play.

How we protect players and families

Who sees what

Coach, player and parent. Each sees its own part.

The head coach, the players and their parents work from the same playbook. Each person signs in to a view built for their job, and sees nothing they shouldn't. Staff, trainer, manager and director views are on the Roadmap (2027).

What coaches and parents say about their tools

We're new, so we won't invent quotes. These are paraphrased from public reviews and reporting, with links. Each one shaped something we built.

  • A popular play-design tool moved its pricing behind a sales call, and single-coach licenses look gone.

HoopBrief, Sept 2026(opens in a new tab) · The author sells a competing tool.

What we do: Our prices are on the page. Coach is $12 a month.

  • Reviewers of AI coaching apps say the video analysis they paid for didn't work the way it was advertised.

What we do: We only advertise video AI that works on real phone film. Full-game analysis stays labeled Coming 2027 until it does.

  • A parent couldn't RSVP for their own child while other parents could, and support sent them back to the club.

What we do: Parents are free during 2027 and see exactly their own child: schedule, assigned plays and consent.

What we do: No ads. Not on the Free plan and not for families.

Questions

Straight answers

The things coaches ask us first. Anything else, ask on a demo call.

Is it really free for players and parents?

Yes, during 2027. Players and parents pay nothing and see no ads, on any plan, including Free. Paid parent extras (highlight downloads) may come later. The Free plan keeps 10 plays, 25 ClinIQ credits a month and the schedule.

Can I sign up today?

Not yet. The app is invitation-only while it is in preview. You can use the free play library now with no account, or apply for the concierge pilot: we load your plays and tag one of your games by hand, and your staff and players use ClinIQ and quizzes for four weeks.

Apply for the pilot

When can my team use it?

Pilots during the spring and summer 2027 club season; ready for the 2027–28 high school season. You can reserve a season pass now. It is $129, refundable until your pilot starts.

What can the video AI do today?

Record games on your phone with Hoops ClinIQ, or upload a video file from any camera. Tag screens and sets with your own play names. Clip to play (beta) drafts a play from a clip of up to 15 seconds; you place and fix the players. It is not yet tested on real amateur footage. That costs 20 credits. Suggested tags are in beta and wait for your review. Full-game breakdown is a film add-on at $15 a game, Coming 2027, not paid in credits.

What ClinIQ can and can't do yet

Does it work with my other apps?

Hoops ClinIQ is its own platform. You keep your roster, schedule and availability here, and you can export your playbook, scouting reports and calendar feed (in preview). A stats CSV is coming in 2027.

See exports

Does Hoops ClinIQ work with Hudl?

No. Hoops ClinIQ is its own platform, with no import from or sync with Hudl or any other vendor. You record or upload your basketball film here. Many schools keep Hudl for football and other sports and run basketball in Hoops ClinIQ.

Hoops ClinIQ and Hudl compared

How do I know ClinIQ isn't making things up?

It answers from your playbook, your tagged film and your stats, and every claim links its source so you can open the clip or play and check. When it isn't sure, it says so and asks you.

What are ClinIQ credits?

Credits meter the AI. A search or summary is 1 credit, analyzing or writing a play is 5, a whiteboard photo is 10, and a film clip to play is 20. Free includes 25 a month, Coach 300 and Team 1,000. The pilot includes 150.

How do you protect kids' data?

Players under 13 need verified parental consent, and we are designing for the amended COPPA Rule with counsel. No ads, no selling data, no medical records. Players are identified by jersey number and the roster you confirm, with no face or gait recognition.
